‘REDCAR REMEMBERS THE FIRST WORLD WAR’
Our brand new 30 min. documentary that we have produced with acclaimed film-maker Craig Hornby
launched on YouTube at 11pm 4th August 2014
– to mark exactly the centenary of Britain entering the war.
WHO WE ARE, AND WHAT WE DO
The Friends of Redcar cemetery was formed in 2005 with the aim to improve the cemetery and we have been working hard to this end.
Redcar Cemetery is situated on the East side of Redcar, off Redcar Lane.Within the boundary there are three plots separated by access roads to the Redcar Racecourse car park.On entering the first section, which is the oldest part, through an archway to the right, is a Lodge which is a private home. As you walk through the archway, ahead are two Chapels, in the past one was used by Roman Catholics and one for Church of England parishioners for burial services. Both have now been converted into living accommodation.
We are a charitable organisation run entirely by volunteers. To help us continue our work in the cemetery and in historical research and educational outreach with local schools and the community we kindly accept donations from the public. No matter how large or small, it all helps and all is appreciated. You can donate very simply with plastic or a PayPal account.
